Under the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA), patients must have at least one of the following conditions to be eligible:
Cancer
Glaucoma
HIV/AIDS
Hepatitis C
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Crohn’s disease
Agitation of Alzheimer’s disease
Post‑Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Chronic pain (one of the most common qualifying reasons)
Seizure disorders (including epilepsy)
Severe nausea
Cachexia (wasting syndrome)
Severe and persistent muscle spasms (including those caused by multiple sclerosis)
Additionally, the law allows for any condition or treatment that causes severe symptoms such as:
Severe nausea
Severe and chronic pain
Severe muscle spasms
Seizures
Cachexia/wasting syndrome
