Arizona medical marijuana patients may opt to have a caregiver purchase and administer their medical cannabis. Patients under 18 require a caregiver to participate in the program.
Patients must qualify and be approved before they can submit a caregiver application. Caregivers may also be patients as long as they meet the necessary requirements and successfully complete the application process. Caregivers may have up to five patients but each patient must submit a separate application for the caregiver.
To qualify as your caregiver, they must:
Be 21 years or older
Have an Arizona driver’s license or ID issued on or after October 1, 1996
Be designated by a qualifying and approved Arizona medical marijuana patient
Agree to assist the patient with the use of medical cannabis, and pledge not to divert cannabis to non-permitted individuals
Submit to a background check or provide documentation of a valid level I fingerprint clearance
Submit payment
Caregivers cannot:
Use their patient’s cannabis
Distribute the patient’s cannabis to anyone else
Caregiver medical marijuana cards are $200. Approved caregiver applications are valid for 2 years.
