Hawaii has passed legislation allowing physicians and APRNs to recommend medical cannabis for any condition they believe would benefit from its use. Common qualifying conditions include but aren’t limited to:
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Cachexia or wasting syndrome
Cancer
Epilepsy
Glaucoma
Lupus
Multiple Sclerosis
Positive status for human immunodeficiency virus
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Seizures, including those characteristic of epilepsy
Severe pain
Severe nausea
Severe and persistent muscle spasms, including those characteristic of multiple sclerosis or Crohn’s disease
