Oklahoma law does protect parents who are licensed medical marijuana patients. Under Senate Bill 811, you cannot be denied custody, visitation, or parenting time with your child simply because you use medical marijuana legally. The law makes it clear that your status as a patient does not create a presumption of neglect or child endangerment. The only exception is if your behavior creates an unreasonable danger to your child’s safety. In other words, as long as you are using medical marijuana responsibly and within the program’s rules, your rights as a parent remain protected.
