Can I use my MMJ card in other states? - Texas

Texas medical marijuana patients cannot use their status in other states. Texas does not issue physical medical marijuana cards. Instead, your doctor enters your prescription directly into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT). Dispensaries use CURT to confirm your eligibility when you pick up medicine.

Because Texas relies on this electronic registry rather than a card system, there is no way to present proof of patient status outside the state. Some states allow “reciprocity” for medical marijuana cards, but Texas patients generally won’t qualify since they don’t have a card and the program only permits low‑THC cannabis (1% THC or less).
