To qualify for medical marijuana in Texas, you must be a permanent resident and have a diagnosis of one of the conditions approved under the Compassionate Use Program (CUP). Your physician will decide if low‑THC cannabis (1% THC or less by weight) is appropriate, and prescriptions are entered directly into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT).

Patients may qualify if diagnosed with:

  • Epilepsy or other seizure disorders

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)

  • Spasticity

  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

  • Cancer

  • Post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Incurable neurodegenerative diseases

  • Chronic pain

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

  • Crohn’s disease

  • Terminal illnesses

  • Hospice care patients
