In Texas, medical marijuana patients cannot smoke cannabis. The state’s Compassionate Use Program only allows low‑THC cannabis products (defined as 1% THC or less by weight), and these must be in forms like tinctures, oils, capsules, lozenges, or edibles. Smoking cannabis flower is explicitly prohibited under Texas law. Patients may consume their medicine orally, sublingually, or through other approved non‑smokable methods, but dispensaries in Texas do not sell smokable cannabis products.
