Opioid use disorder has been qualified as a singular, debilitating medical condition for the New Jersey medical marijuana program as of January 2019. The one catch is that the patient is required to show proof that they are receiving medication-assisted therapy (MAT). If you are an opioid use disorder patient, you can qualify for a medical marijuana in New Jersey with proof of debilitating symptoms or as a supplement to your MAT treatment regimen.
I’m concerned if my opioid use disorder will affect my approval process for a New Jersey medical marijuana card. Does this have any effect on my eligibility?
