Your employer is allowed to set their own drug testing policy regardless of New Jersey’s Medicinal Marijuana Program. This means that being a registered medical marijuana patient in New Jersey does not automatically exclude you from complying with your employer’s drug testing policies. Instead, it is your responsibility to be aware of your employer’s drug testing policies and understand how it affects your current situation as an MMJ patient. Any questions pertaining to your employer’s drug policy should be discussed with your human resources department.
