Maine's medical marijuana legislation mandates that all applications and renewals for both patients and caregivers be processed within 30 days. If the application is approved, the Department must issue and mail these MMJ IDs within 5 days. All in all, the average time patients and caregivers need to wait is 30 days from their initial application. Please note that the U.S. Post Office has increased delivery times for First Class Mail to up to 5 days.
